Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday reacted sharply to MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s meeting with Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) leaders, saying such interactions hold no political significance for the ruling alliance. Fadnavis asserted that the Mahayuti, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), remains strong and confident of victory in the upcoming local body elections.

Responding to media queries on the growing buzz around Thackeray’s recent engagements with opposition figures, Fadnavis remarked, “Anyone can go anywhere; there is no obligation binding anyone to someone else. Anyone can go with anyone, but let me tell you one thing — in the upcoming local body elections, the Mahayuti will be victorious.”

The BJP leader further added that once the Mahayuti secures a decisive win, the opposition will likely resort to making baseless allegations.

“We also know that once we are elected, the opposition will show today’s photos and say, ‘See, we warned you earlier that there were irregularities in the election.’ They will say things like that, but it won’t make any difference to us,” Fadnavis said confidently.
