Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has granted permission for all Muslim government employees, including teachers and contractual staff, to leave work an hour early during the holy month of Ramzan. This decision follows a similar order issued by the Telangana government.

According to the order, the relaxation will apply to employees working on a permanent, contractual, or outsourcing basis, including those in Village and Ward Secretariats. The directive allows early departure on all working days from March 2 to March 30 to facilitate religious observances.

The Telangana government had earlier announced a similar measure, allowing Muslim government employees to leave their offices by 4:00 p.m. from March 2 to March 31. The order, issued by Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, stated that the relaxation would be applicable except in cases where official duties require attendance beyond the permitted time.
