New Delhi: The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets dairy products under the Amul brand, has reduced the price of its one-litre milk packs by ₹1 across India. This decision aims to encourage consumers to purchase larger milk packs by offering an incentive for the same. The price reduction has been implemented nationwide, with Amul Gold now priced at ₹67 per litre in Delhi, down from ₹68, and Amul Taaza reduced to ₹55 per litre from ₹56.
GCMMF, known as the world’s largest farmer-owned dairy cooperative, has achieved significant growth in recent years. In the 2023-24 financial year, the cooperative recorded an 8% increase in turnover, reaching ₹59,445 crore. The federation processed an average of 310 lakh litres of milk daily during the last fiscal year and has an annual milk processing capacity of 500 lakh litres. With 36 lakh farmers across 18,600 villages in Gujarat contributing to its operations, GCMMF remains a vital player in the dairy industry.
The cooperative has also expanded its presence globally, exporting dairy products to around 50 countries. Last year, it entered the US market with four fresh milk variants catering to the Indian diaspora and the Asian population. As the federation anticipates double-digit revenue growth in the current fiscal year, its commitment to meeting consumer demand both domestically and internationally continues to strengthen its market position.
