Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani Receives Warm Welcome in India for State Visit

New Delhi: Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, was officially welcomed in India with a Guard of Honour and a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday. The Amir was greeted by President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who were accompanied by senior ministers from the government. The Qatari Amir also engaged in discussions with various ministers, while President Murmu interacted with the visiting delegation.

Arriving in Delhi on Monday for a two-day state visit, the Qatar Amir was warmly received by Prime Minister Modi at the Palam Technical Airport, who referred to him as his “brother” and wished him a productive visit. The Amir is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including key ministers, officials, and a business contingent.

This visit marks the Amir’s second official state visit to India, with the first being in March 2015. During his stay, he will engage in talks with President Murmu and PM Modi, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. The President will also host a banquet in his honour. Key areas of collaboration are expected to be discussed, further bolstering Qatar-India relations.
