Thane: Although with a recovery rate touching 91 percent in some Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) (civic bodies) in Thane district, the steady mortality rate and new Covid-19 positive cases being detected every passing day is a matter of grave concern for the administration and the government at large.
There was 91 percent of the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients in Ulhasnagar city consistently recorded while 10 patients died (mortality number) due to coronavirus infection for the last five reported, informed the health team of Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC).
According to a UMC civic official, “It is good news for citizens of Ulhasnagar as the recovery rate was consistent for last five days. The mortality rate was about 10 patients for the last five days reported in the Ulhasnagar city.
As many as 22 patients from Kalyan-Dombivli areas died due to coronavirus infection within the five days in the twin city of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) reported.

The number of positive cases has been increasing by the day. There were 591 new cases recorded in the KDMC region on Friday, 405 patients discharged while 757 patients died due to the virus. So far, the total number of discharge patients is 31577 while 5497 are currently under treatment, informed an official of the health department of KDMC.
The 85 percent recovery rate of Covid-19 patients in Thane city has been consistently reported for the last seven day, a Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) report stated on Friday.
Until now, a total number of patients dying due to Coronavirus was about 922 recorded deaths and 27,316 patients have recovered while 3,834 patients are currently under treatment in various hospitals. On Friday, 409 positive cases were reported of which 240 were discharged while four died due to deadly coronavirus infection.
In Bhiwandi-Nizampur City Municipal Corporation (BNCMC), so far there were 298 patients (mortality) reported. A total number of corona positive 4,665 patients were reported in the city. Out of the 4,628 cases detected, 4,074 discharged, 293 patients were active and under the treatment. On Friday there were 37 new cases reported. In all 3,718 patients have been discharged, while only one patient died due to the virus.
In Ambernath Municipal Council, the recovery rate was 89.90 percent. In all 5,718 Corona positive cases were reported. Out of the 5,718 patients, 5149 have discharged while 213 patients died due to the deadly virus. There were 57 new cases reported in the council on Friday.
In Kulgaon-Badlapur Municipal Council, the recovery rate of 90.85 percent was recorded on Friday. A total of 5402 positive cases were reported. Out of 5,402 cases, 4,908 patients were discharged, 421 patients were under treatment while 73 patients died due to the virus. There were 91 new cases reported on Friday.-By Narendra Gupta
