Ahmedabad: In a decisive administrative move, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday announced the cancellation of all types of leave for government officers and employees across the state, citing the prevailing national security situation.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), CM Patel stated:
“In view of the prevailing situation, all types of leave for officers and employees of all departments and offices of the state government, as well as Boards, Corporations, Panchayats, Municipal Corporations, and autonomous and grant-in-aid institutions, have been cancelled with immediate effect.”
The directive applies uniformly across all state-run and affiliated institutions, including Boards, Corporations, local self-government bodies, and autonomous organisations. Officials currently on leave have been ordered to return to duty immediately.
“Instructions have also been issued to the heads of the respective departments or offices to ensure that officers and employees currently on leave report back to duty with immediate effect,” CM Patel further added.
Additionally, the Chief Minister instructed that no government officer or employee is to leave headquarters without prior written approval from their department head.
