As the Lok Sabha election draws near, the Grand Alliance finds itself at the final juncture of seat allocation discussions. The pivotal challenge before the BJP lies in navigating the intricate balance of accommodating both the Shiv Sena and NCP with due respect. However, today marks a significant development for the NCP, particularly for Ajit Pawar, as the party braces for a substantial setback amidst ongoing negotiations.

In a dramatic turn of events, 137 individuals, including prominent office bearers, are poised to depart from Ajit Pawar’s camp to join the ranks of Sharad Pawar’s faction. This mass exodus is scheduled to occur today, with the new members formally entering the fold under the auspices of Sharad Pawar himself. A pivotal meeting is slated to take place in Lonavala, serving as the backdrop for this notable transition.

Recent discontent within Ajit Pawar’s camp came to a head when 137 individuals, including the Nationalist Youth City President, tendered their resignations in Lonavala. Citing grievances over perceived interference by Maval MLA Sunil Shelke, their collective departure underscored lingering tensions within the party ranks. Despite concerted efforts by Ajit Pawar’s party leadership in Maval and Pune districts to sway the resignees, their resolve remained steadfast.

Today, Lonavala played host to a warm reception for Sharad Pawar, orchestrated by the NCP’s Sharad Chandra Pawar faction. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as flowers cascaded from a JCB, and trumpets resonated in celebration. Pratibha Pawar’s presence added to the jubilant ambiance, with a grand garland adorning the crane serving as a symbolic gesture of welcome.

The Election Commission’s decision to award the NCP party symbol and clock to Ajit Pawar may have conferred official recognition, but the heart and soul of the party remain firmly vested in Sharad Pawar. Today’s gathering in Lonavala not only underscores the shifting dynamics within the NCP but also serves as a testament to Sharad Pawar’s enduring influence and leadership within the party.
