Mumbai: In a startling revelation that sheds light on the chaotic aftermath of the recent attack on actor Saif Ali Khan, Bollywood actor and security agency owner Ronit Roy has confirmed that Kareena Kapoor Khan’s car was attacked shortly after Saif was stabbed at their Mumbai residence in the early hours of January 16. While Kareena was unharmed, the incident left her shaken and raised serious concerns about the couple’s security.
According to Ronit, whose private security firm was tasked with protecting the family, the attack on Saif triggered a media frenzy and large public gathering outside the hospital and their Bandra residence. As Kareena was making her way home following Saif’s surgery at Lilavati Hospital, her vehicle was surrounded by an uncontrollable crowd. In the process, her car was shaken and lightly struck, causing panic.
The events unfolded hours after Saif Ali Khan was brutally attacked by an intruder who broke into their home in what is believed to be an attempted robbery. The actor sustained multiple stab wounds while trying to protect his youngest son, Jeh. Despite his injuries, Saif reportedly drove himself to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. A 2.5-inch fragment of a knife blade was removed from near his spine during a five-hour-long operation.
Ronit Roy also conducted a security assessment at the Bandra residence following the attack and found several lapses in safety protocols. He advised the couple to upgrade their home security, and additional measures have since been implemented in coordination with Mumbai Police. Enhanced security personnel have now been deployed at the premises.
The attacker, who had managed to flee the scene immediately after the incident, was later tracked down and apprehended by Mumbai Police after a two-day search. The authorities are continuing their investigation into how the intruder gained access to the high-profile residential complex.
While Saif is now recovering at home, the traumatic event has had a lasting impact on the family. Kareena Kapoor has reportedly become more cautious and has requested the media and paparazzi to avoid photographing her children, particularly Taimur and Jeh, in light of recent events.
The incident has sparked a larger conversation in Bollywood about personal safety, security preparedness, and the risks posed by obsessive fans and opportunistic criminals.
