New Delhi: In a strong retaliatory move following the deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that left 26 people dead—mostly tourists—the Indian government on Tuesday blocked the X (formerly Twitter) account of Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.
The action came a day after India banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels with a combined subscriber base of over 63 million. The Ministry of Home Affairs had recommended the ban, stating that these platforms were allegedly spreading “provocative and communally sensitive content” in the wake of the April 22 attack in the popular Kashmir tourist destination.
The blocked YouTube channels include: Dawn News, Irshad Bhatti, SAMAA TV, ARY NEWS, BOL NEWS, Raftar, The Pakistan Reference, Geo News, Samaa Sports, GNN, Uzair Cricket, Umar Cheema Exclusive, Asma Shirazi, Muneeb Farooq, SUNO News, and Razi Naama.
