Mumbai: After Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut targeted Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, it was the turn of Nationalist Congress Party leader Advocate Majeed Memon who on Wednesday to insult the talented late actor. In tweet, the former NCP Rajya Sabha MP and noted criminal lawyer remarked saying the late Bollywood actor was not as famous during his lifetime as he is after his death. Memon added that the media attention the MS Dhoni flick actor is drawing is “perhaps more than our PM or President of US”.
His comments on twitter did not go down well with many, including his own party, they distanced itself from the comment. NCP leader Nawab Malik tweeted that “The statement made by Majeed Memon on twitter is his personal opinion and not of the NCP. Our party does not endorse or support his statement in any form or manner. He is not a spokesperson of the NCP which must be noted by all.”
Memon also tweeted that when “a crime is at investigation stage, secrecy has to be maintained. Publicizing every development in the process of collecting vital evidence adversely affects the interest of truth and justice.”

Later, Memon trying to justifying his stand said that “I have only expressed my displeasure in the manner in which the person’s publicity is being made post his death.”
He added that Sushant’s “soul must be suffering because every day” media plays nothing but Sushant. Sanjay Raut in his weekly column ‘Rokhthok’ in Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ targeted on father of deceased star saying he was remarried and that was the reason why Sushant was unhappy with him.
