In a chilling ordeal, actor Mushtaq Khan, known for his work in comedy and television, was recently kidnapped under the guise of being invited to an award show in Meerut. His business partner, Shivam Yadav, spoke to India Today Digital, recounting the terrifying experience the actor endured.
According to Shivam, Mushtaq Khan was invited to an event on November 20, with an advance payment made to him, flight tickets booked, and all arrangements seemingly in place. However, when Khan landed in Delhi, he was directed to a car that soon drove him to a remote location near Bijnor, on the outskirts of the city.
Once there, the kidnappers held Khan captive for over 12 hours, torturing him and demanding a ransom of one crore rupees. Eventually, the captors made off with over Rs 2 lakh from both Khan and his son’s bank accounts.
The turning point came early in the morning when Mushtaq Khan, hearing the azaan, realized he was near a mosque and seized the opportunity to escape. With help from locals and the police, he managed to return home safely.
“Mushtaq sir and his family were completely shaken over what happened to him. However, he was always sure that he would file an FIR after he composed himself. Yesterday, I went to Bijnor and filed an official FIR. We have proof of the flight ticket, the bank accounts, and even CCTV footage near the airport. He also recognizes the neighborhood, even the house where he was kept. I think the police team will surely get the culprits soon,” Shivam Yadav said.
Mushtaq Khan’s family is understandably shaken by the traumatic experience, but they are hopeful that the police will soon apprehend the culprits behind this horrific crime.
