Srinagar: Roads form an important part of any infrastructure which contributes to the socio-economic welfare of any region. Keeping this in mind Indian Army’s Kupwara Terriers constructed a 1000-meter road to connect the main road of Warsun to Sheikh Mohalla, Singranpatti.
Locals from Warsun Bowl which comes under Kralpora tehsil of Kupwara district had approached the E Company of 160 TA for assistance in improving the road connectivity between Warsun and Sheikh Mohalla. These rural villages in Kupwara district have minimal infrastructure.
The Kupwara Terriers undertook a ‘Sadbhavna Project’ to construct the road track to provide direct access to the main road thereby facilitating easy and fast movement of villagers.
The project was finished in 15 days and the road was thrown open to the villagers on Monday. The road was inaugurated in presence of the officers of the 160 TA and
residents from both villages by the Sarpanch of Warsun, Ghulam Hassan.
Locals appreciated the effort for easing their daily hardships, and also apprised the officers about water supply and electricity issues being faced by the residents. Lt Col Gaurav Pathania assured continued support to the residents of Warsun Bowl in assisting and working together hand in hand for the betterment of the area.
Kupwara Terriers is committed towards ensuring sustainable peace and social growth by engaging and empowering the locals of this region.
