Senior Shiv Sena MLC Advocate Anil Parab on Saturday squarely blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for calling of its alliance with the Sena. Speaking to newspersons here, the Sena MLC stated that the Sena-BJP alliance was the oldest alliance. He said that the BJP snapped the alliance in 2014 and not the Sena. The BJP called off the alliance after its situation improved and hence no one should preach coalition dharma to the Sena.
He added that the alliance was re-established during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. But the BJP did not keep its word. Hence, the Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) decided to come together and chalk out a Common Minimum Program (CMP). There is nothing wrong in it as the aim of all the three is the development of Maharashtra, added Parab
Parab reiterated the Sena president Uddhav Thackeray’s questions, wanting to know the commonality of ideology with Mehbooba Mufti, N Chandrababu Naidu and many other political parties with whom the BJP had an alliance. On what issues are alliances formed. The Sena has already made it clear that it will not attend the meeting of the BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
The political parties work towards the welfare of the people. The leaders of all the three political parties shall spell out what they feel are the issues concerning the interest of the people. Parab stated that the leaders of all the three political parties will speak on the Common Minimum Program (CMP). He further remarked “this government is not coming together on contentious issues, but is coming together for Common Minimum Program (CMP)”.
