Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday hailed Ghazipur’s historic contribution to the country’s freedom struggle and national security, describing the district as a symbol of patriotism whose brave sons have consistently answered the nation’s call during every major conflict.
Addressing a public gathering in Ghazipur, the Chief Minister said the district has played a significant role in shaping India’s history, from resisting oppression during the freedom movement to safeguarding the country’s borders after Independence.
Ghazipur’s Legacy of Patriotism
Highlighting the district’s historical importance, Yogi Adityanath said Ghazipur has always inspired the spirit of nationalism and courage. He credited the region with producing generations of brave individuals who stood against injustice and defended the country’s sovereignty whenever required.
“The soil of Ghazipur has always been a focal point of inspiration for patriotism. Ghazipur provided the vision and led the clarion call against terror, plunder and anarchy,” the Chief Minister said.
Tribute to Soldiers Across Generations
Remembering the sacrifices made by soldiers from Ghazipur, Yogi said the district’s contribution has remained unmatched in every major military conflict fought by India after Independence.
“Whether it concerns the freedom struggle or the defence of India’s borders in independent India, Ghazipur stands out. These are the people who contributed to the fight for the nation’s freedom and have played a vital role in defending India’s borders in independent India,” he said.
From 1962 War to Operation Sindoor
The Chief Minister also referred to India’s major wars and military operations, saying Ghazipur’s soldiers have always displayed exceptional courage on the battlefield.
“Whether it was the wars of 1962, 1965, 1971, the Kargil conflict of 1999, or even Operation Sindoor last year, the brave warriors of Ghazipur never once held back when it came to defending the nation,” Yogi Adityanath said.
He said the courage and dedication shown by the people of Ghazipur continue to inspire future generations and strengthen the country’s resolve to protect its sovereignty.
