Sopore: Chinar Warriors Dangiwacha brought pride to North Kashmir by securing an impressive 21 medals and finishing in 5th position overall in Jammu and Kashmir at the prestigious Budgam Open State Level Taekwondo Championship 2026.
The three-day championship, held from June 20 to 22 at the Indoor Sports Stadium, Budgam, was organised by the Taekwondo Association of District Budgam in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. The event witnessed participation from over 100 teams and nearly 1,200 athletes representing various districts of the Union Territory.
Under the guidance of Coach Mohsin Ali, the Chinar Warriors delivered an outstanding performance, showcasing exceptional skill, discipline, and determination throughout the competition. Their success reflected months of dedicated training, consistency, and hard work.
The achievement has highlighted the growing sporting talent emerging from Dangiwacha and has inspired young athletes across North Kashmir to pursue excellence in sports. Team members credited their success to teamwork, continuous effort, and the unwavering support of their coach and well-wishers.
The team also expressed gratitude to the 32 Rashtriya Rifles for their continued support in promoting sports and youth development in the region, providing opportunities for local talent to perform at competitive platforms.
