Political tensions in Maharashtra intensified on Wednesday after Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut made a sensational claim that elected representatives are allegedly being offered massive sums of money to switch political camps amid growing speculation surrounding “Operation Tiger.”
Raut took to social media and sarcastically remarked that the “market value” of an MP had allegedly touched ₹50 crore, claiming that smaller amounts being discussed publicly were merely advance payments. His comments came while responding to a social media exchange involving Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra.
The remarks have added fresh fuel to the ongoing debate over reports that several Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs could be considering a shift towards the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction ahead of the upcoming Parliament session.

The controversy gained momentum after Mahua Moitra made a sarcastic comment on social media regarding alleged attempts to lure lawmakers. Her remarks triggered a sharp response from Raut, who suggested that leaders from parties such as Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Trinamool Congress have become politically valuable because of their party identity.
