Fresh Political Activity Raises Questions
Just days after the Karnataka leadership declared an end to internal differences within the ruling Congress, fresh developments have once again shifted attention to unresolved issues surrounding cabinet responsibilities and political representation.
Political activity intensified after two Congress leaders reportedly travelled to New Delhi to engage with the party’s central leadership, sparking speculation that discussions over portfolios and cabinet positions may still be ongoing.
Bengaluru Development Portfolio Under Spotlight
One of the key issues revolves around Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, who is understood to be seeking a broader administrative role linked to the state’s capital region.
Sources indicate that Gowda wants major urban planning and development agencies associated with Bengaluru to function under his department, arguing that effective execution of development projects requires direct coordination with these bodies.
The matter has reportedly become a subject of discussion within party circles and may lead to further consultations with the leadership.
Cabinet Aspirations Continue To Surface
Adding another dimension to the political developments, Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad is also reported to be in Delhi amid speculation that he is seeking a place in the state cabinet.
His visit has fuelled discussions that several leaders are still hopeful of securing larger responsibilities within the government despite the cabinet formation process already being completed.
Recent Crisis May Have Ended, But Challenges Remain
The latest developments come shortly after the Karnataka government navigated a major political challenge involving senior leader Ramalinga Reddy.
The dispute had erupted over portfolio allocations and briefly threatened to create a significant political embarrassment for the newly formed administration. However, intensive discussions between the leadership and Reddy eventually led to a compromise, with both sides publicly stating that differences had been resolved.
Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had described the episode as an internal matter and insisted that all misunderstandings had been addressed through dialogue.
