Mumbai: Asit Jatarama and Dhiraj Topno produced decisive performances as Artic Super Boys registered a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Savio SC in a Senior Men’s match of the 15th Joe Fernandis Hockey Tournament 2026, organised by the AHWA and played at the St. Stanislaus High School turf in Bandra.
Artic Super Boys displayed attacking intent throughout the contest, with Asit Jatarama and Dhiraj Topno scoring a goal each to put their side in control. Savio SC attempted a comeback through Mario Fernandes, who netted the team’s lone goal, but Artic Super Boys held firm to secure the win.
In another Senior Men’s fixture, Independent SC produced a dominant performance to thrash Navi Mumbai Hockey 7-0. Kevin Wala starred with four goals, while Vivek Panchal added a brace and Chintan D. contributed one goal.
Meanwhile, in the Senior Women’s category, Warriors SC defeated Sea View SC by a narrow 1-0 margin. Akshaya Shetty scored the match-winning goal in a tightly contested encounter.
The tournament continues to witness competitive action and strong participation from Mumbai’s leading hockey clubs.
