Mumbai: Chembur Gymkhana and CCI entered the semi-finals of the Kanji Cup competition in the Motiram, Ullal and Kanji Cup Badminton Tournament sponsored by Badminton Gurukul and jointly organised by the Greater Mumbai Badminton Association (GMBA) and Willingdon Sports Club.
The semi-final line-up also features Thakur Sports Complex and All India Balkanjibari. In the semi-finals, CCI will take on Balkanjibari, while Chembur Gymkhana will clash with Thakur Sports Complex.
CCI continued their unbeaten run in dominant fashion, defeating both Thakur Sports Complex and hosts Willingdon Sports Club by identical 3-0 margins.
Chembur Gymkhana also impressed by registering 3-1 victories over All India Balkanjibari and P.M. Bath to confirm their place in the last four.
In the Men’s Motiram Cup Elite Group, Chembur Gymkhana and CCI advanced to the semi-finals along with BKLP ‘A’ and Bombay Gymkhana ‘A’.
CCI will face Bombay Gymkhana in the semi-finals, while BKLP will meet Chembur Gymkhana.
In the Motiram Cup Plate Group semi-finals, NSCI ‘A’ will take on BKLP ‘B’, while Juhu Gymkhana will face CCI ‘B’.
