Mumbai: Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge on Sunday came out in support of Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar after he was served a notice in the National Herald case. Speaking to reporters, Kharge accused the BJP of using legal notices as a tactic whenever it struggles to respond to questions about governance.
“Whenever the BJP has no answers to questions challenging governance, they issue such notices to Congress leaders. This is nothing new,” Kharge said. He added that Shivakumar would comply with all necessary clarifications as required. “Whatever clarifications Mr. D.K. Shivakumar needs to provide, he will provide them,” he affirmed.
The notice comes amid ongoing investigations into alleged irregularities linked to the National Herald, a case that has drawn sharp political attention. Kharge described the move as a continuation of what he called a pattern of targeting opposition leaders whenever the ruling party faces criticism.
