Mumbai: In a dramatic twist to the ongoing probe into the high-profile ₹1xBet illegal betting app case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Bengali cinema star Ankush Hazra and Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela for questioning.

According to officials, both actors have been directed to appear before the agency’s headquarters in Delhi on September 16. The summons come as part of a wider investigation into the money laundering angle linked with the controversial betting app, which has already brought several celebrities under the scanner.

Sources reveal that the ED is examining whether promotional activities, social media endorsements, and financial transactions involving the app had a deeper role in fueling the illegal betting network across India. The names of multiple film personalities had surfaced earlier in connection with the probe.

The 1xBet app, banned in India, has been accused of running large-scale betting operations through surrogate websites and online promotions, allegedly generating hundreds of crores in illegal revenue. The ED has intensified its crackdown, calling in celebrities who were associated with the platform for questioning about their involvement, payments, and brand deals.
