Patna: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s much-publicized rally in Purnea, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav unleashed a fiery attack, accusing the PM of burdening Bihar’s fragile economy with extravagant rallies while neglecting the state’s core issues of poverty, unemployment, and crumbling infrastructure.

Taking to social media platform ‘X’, Tejashwi minced no words: “Honourable Prime Minister Modi Ji, before showering a deluge of empty promises in Purnea today, kindly take note of the dilapidated rural roads, schools without teachers, crumbling health centres, and the hardships of women and youth plagued by inflation, poverty, unemployment, and migration within a 2-3 kilometer radius of your rally venue. You must have surely noticed the deplorable condition of Purnea’s medical college yesterday.”

The former deputy chief minister alleged that a single rally by PM Modi drains nearly ₹100 crore from Bihar’s exchequer. He argued that the money wasted on such political spectacles could instead transform the education and healthcare system in the state. “With thousands of crores spent on these rallies, boundary walls of schools could have been built, separate toilets for girls constructed, and medicines and staff arranged for hospitals. Instead, government employees, Jeevika Didis, Asha workers, Shiksha Mitras, and Anganwadi helpers are pulled away from their duties just to fill your rallies,” he charged.

Tejashwi further reminded Modi of his unfulfilled promise of granting special category status to Bihar, made more than a decade ago in the very same district of Purnea. “What happened to that promise, Prime Minister Ji? Are you again here to sell the same false assurances before elections?” he questioned.

The RJD leader also accused the BJP of using the rhetoric of “Jungle Raj” to cover up its own failures. “Prime Minister Ji, you loudly shout ‘Jungle Raj, Jungle Raj’ just to drown out the failures of 11 years at the Centre and 20 years of NDA rule. But the people of Bihar are now aware of this pretense, and lies will no longer work,” Tejashwi declared.
