Maharashtra–Australia Industry Roundtable Charts Path for Global Growth: CM Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday chaired the Maharashtra–Australia Industry Roundtable during the IABCA Global Leaders Forum 2025 in Mumbai, alongside Australia’s High Commissioner to India, HE Philip Green OAM.

Highlighting the state’s reform-driven agenda, Fadnavis announced that Maharashtra will soon unveil 14 new sectoral policies, with a special thrust on the services sector. To facilitate investors, the MAITRI Portal and single-window system will be strengthened as a seamless, one-stop solution. The CM further stated that ‘Ease of Doing Business’ in the state is being reinforced with a high-level committee and a dedicated War Room, implementing 100 reforms benchmarked against national and global best practices.

On the social development front, Fadnavis revealed plans for a statewide cochlear implant mission, a sewage treatment initiative with the World Bank for all 450 towns, and desalination projects for Mumbai. He added that Pune is set to get a new international airport and a ₹30,000 crore mobility plan, which will include geospatial solutions and tunnels to significantly boost connectivity.

Looking ahead, the Chief Minister said that the upcoming Global Capability Centre (GCC) Policy and his proposed visit to Australia will deepen industry collaboration and deliver “impactful outcomes.”

The roundtable was also attended by Minister Jaykumar Rawal and several dignitaries.
