Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday assured devotees that this year’s Ganpati Visarjan will be conducted smoothly under strict security arrangements.
Speaking to reporters, Shinde said, “It will be done peacefully. The devotees will not face any kind of trouble. Police have made tight security arrangements.” He emphasized that the state government is committed to ensuring a safe and joyous culmination of the Ganesh festival, which draws massive crowds across Maharashtra every year.
Addressing broader political concerns, Shinde clarified that the ruling Mahayuti coalition is not driven by competition over credit. “We are not in a fight for credit… The Mahayuti government is working to ensure justice for the Maratha community and the OBC community… This government will continue to work for the development of the state and to help the common people,” he added.
The Deputy CM’s remarks come at a time when community demands and political challenges are at the forefront of Maharashtra’s discourse.
