Patna: In a chilling development in the Paras HMRI Hospital shooting case, Patna Police have released CCTV footage capturing the assailants just moments before the cold-blooded murder of Chandan Mishra inside the hospital premises.
One of the shooters was seen riding a motorbike with a firearm in his hand, merely metres from the hospital entrance. The visuals—now widely shared on social media—are believed to be key in tracking the attackers’ escape and uncovering further links to the crime.
The shocking incident unfolded in broad daylight on Thursday morning, July 17, when five armed men stormed the hospital and opened fire on Chandan Mishra, who died instantly. Mishra, a murder accused from Buxar district, was out on parole for medical treatment at the time of the attack.
One of the attackers has been arrested, and the remaining four have been identified, according to police sources. Investigators suspect that the shooters are linked to a local real estate group with a known criminal background.
A viral video from inside the hospital shows the armed men entering the lobby, weapons drawn, and then escaping the scene within seconds. Remarkably, no hospital staff or patients were injured.
Confirming the incident, Patna SSP Kartikeya K Sharma said, “Chandan was on parole and admitted to Paras Hospital for treatment. The rival gang shot him… We are identifying the members of the rival gang. We have the photographs of the shooters.”
