Lakhimpur Kheri: A chilling murder case has sent shockwaves through Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur, where a 19-year-old BBA student, Amogh Seth, was brutally killed on Monday. The accused, identified as 22-year-old Anmol Puri, along with five others, reportedly thrashed the victim before making him run for nearly 500 meters and shooting him dead inside a bookstore, reported The Times of India.

According to eyewitnesses, Seth ran into a bookstore to escape, but the attackers followed him and opened indiscriminate fire. A bullet struck his chest, killing him on the spot. A shop assistant was also injured in the firing and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Police officials stated that the murder was a fallout of a heated argument between Seth and Puri a day before. Allegedly insulted by Seth, Puri sought revenge, leading to the gruesome crime near the Mishrana police outpost in Lakhimpur Kheri district.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sankalp Sharma confirmed that a murder FIR has been filed, and two suspects have been detained. “The main accused, Anmol Puri alias Bala, is on the run. Multiple police teams have been formed to apprehend him,” Sharma said.
