Chandigarh: Punjab’s Leader of Opposition, Partap Singh Bajwa, has stirred a major political storm by claiming that 32 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs are in touch with the Congress and waiting for the right moment to switch sides.

Speaking to the media ahead of the two-day Assembly session, Bajwa declared, “This government has already fallen in the eyes of the people of Punjab by constantly lying.” He accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government of betraying the electorate by failing to deliver on key promises, including the Rs 1,000 monthly financial aid for women.

Slamming AAP for neglecting governance, Bajwa criticized the party for skipping the winter session of the Assembly and now calling a Budget session that he termed a “mere formality.” He alleged that Punjab’s law and order situation was deteriorating rapidly while the state’s financial health was in crisis.

Adding to the attack, former BJP state chief and MLA Ashwani Sharma also lashed out at the AAP government, accusing it of evading discussions on crucial public issues. He pointed out that while AAP failed to implement the Rs 1,000 allowance promise in Punjab, its government in Delhi recently announced a Rs 2,500 monthly scheme for women.
