New Delhi: Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Ashutosh on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Arvind Kejriwal-led party following its electoral loss in the recently concluded Delhi Assembly elections.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ashutosh wrote, “Aam Aadmi Party was finished the day its members started travelling by chartered flights, started living in Presidential suites, building glass palaces, taking Z+ security, and giving controversial statements. The result has just come out on the 8th.”

His remarks come as a major blow to AAP, which suffered a significant setback in the elections. The party, once known for its anti-corruption stance, has faced increasing criticism for alleged extravagance and deviation from its founding principles.

Ashutosh, a senior journalist-turned-politician, joined AAP in 2014 and contested the Lok Sabha elections from Delhi’s Chandni Chowk but lost to BJP’s Harsh Vardhan. He later resigned from AAP in 2018, citing “very, very personal reasons.”

“Every journey has an end. My association with AAP, which was beautiful and revolutionary, has also ended. I have resigned from the party and requested the PAC to accept the same,” he had said at the time.

His latest criticism adds to the mounting challenges faced by AAP, with political analysts pointing to leadership and credibility issues as key factors behind its electoral downfall.
