Kolhapur: In an extraordinary turn of events, a 65-year-old man declared ‘dead’ by doctors at a private hospital in Kolhapur came back to life after the ambulance carrying him hit a speed breaker. The incident, reported on December 16, has sparked widespread astonishment and debate about whether it was divine intervention or a medical oversight.

Pandurang Ulpe, a resident of Kadaba Bavda and a devoted follower of Lord Vitthal, had suffered a heart attack and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, doctors pronounced him dead and sent his body home in an ambulance. However, as the ambulance hit a speed breaker, Ulpe’s wife, who was seated beside him, noticed subtle movements in his fingers, signaling signs of life.

Shocked yet hopeful, she instructed the ambulance driver to return to the hospital immediately. Doctors, upon reassessment, confirmed he was alive and proceeded with urgent medical intervention. Ulpe underwent angioplasty and was closely monitored for two weeks. Remarkably, he recovered and walked out of the hospital, leaving many in disbelief.

Speaking to the media, Ulpe expressed gratitude for his miraculous revival, attributing it to divine blessings. “This is nothing but God Shree Vitthal’s blessings,” he said.

The incident has raised questions about the initial diagnosis made by the hospital. Meanwhile, locals and devotees are hailing it as a miracle, with some suggesting it underscores the need for more thorough medical evaluations in critical cases.
