Bhiwani: In a significant development, the Bhiwani Police have arrested another accused in connection with the suicide of a Dalit student in the Loharu region. The incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns about caste-based discrimination in educational institutions.
According to an official statement, the arrest follows a thorough investigation into the distressing death of the 19-year-old student, who allegedly took her own life after being subjected to immense pressure by her college authorities. The victim was reportedly coerced into paying her college fees and was allegedly subjected to further harassment, with claims that the college management pressured her to enter a physical relationship with the college Director’s son over the unpaid dues.

The committee comprises the sub-divisional officer of Loharu, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Loharu, and the District Higher Education Officer of Bhiwani. The committee’s formation aims to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation into the case.
Local authorities have promised strict action against those responsible, with police continuing to probe the matter in-depth. The case has ignited a wave of protests across the region, with many demanding justice for the young student and accountability for the college’s alleged role in her tragic death.
