Mumbai: Telugu superstar Allu Arjun and the makers of Pushpa 2: The Rule have landed in fresh controversy, with Congress leader and Telangana MLC Theenmar Mallanna filing a complaint against them. Mallanna has demanded strict action against Arjun, director Sukumar, and the production team for a scene he described as “disrespectful and demeaning” to law enforcement personnel.

The controversy stems from a scene in the film where Allu Arjun’s character urinates in a swimming pool while a police officer is present. Theenmar Mallanna has called the portrayal “insulting” and urged authorities to act, claiming it undermines the dignity of the police force.

This complaint adds to a series of controversies surrounding the film and its lead actor. Earlier this month, a tragic stampede-like situation during the premiere of Pushpa 2 at a Hyderabad cinema hall claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman, Revathi, and left her eight-year-old son injured. Thousands of fans had gathered to catch a glimpse of Arjun, leading to chaos.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy criticized Allu Arjun for visiting the theatre without police permission, a claim the actor has denied. The Hyderabad Police later registered a case against him, his security team, and the theatre management.

On December 13, Arjun was arrested in connection with the stampede incident but was granted a four-week interim bail by the Telangana High Court. However, the controversies escalated further on Sunday when his Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad was vandalized. A group claiming affiliation with the Osmania University Joint Action Committee stormed the property, causing damage and demanding justice for Revathi.
