As Devendra Fadnavis prepares to take the oath as Maharashtra’s Chief Minister this evening, the event is set to be a high-profile affair with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and Shiv Sena in attendance. However, leaders from the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition, including Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, and Nana Patole, are expected to skip the ceremony despite receiving invitations.

The oath-taking ceremony will be held at Azad Maidan in Mumbai and is anticipated to feature the swearing-in of Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar as Deputy Chief Ministers alongside Fadnavis. The MVA’s decision to boycott the event highlights the strained political dynamics in Maharashtra.
