BSF organises free medical cum veterinary camp under its civic action programme at Melayal Kupwara

Srinagar: The Border Security Force’s (BSF) 26 Battalion on Monday organised a free medical camp under its Civic Action Programme (CAP) at FDL Melayal village of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district with an aim to provide quality medical care and free medicines to the poor and needy people of the area.

The medical camp was inaugurated by former Block Development Council (BDC) chairman Fareed Ahmed Khan along with Commandant 26 Battalion BSF Lienzakai Sithlou and other officials.

Medical camp was organised in consonance with the ongoing peace process by security forces across Kashmir valley. A team of specialist BSF and civil doctors rendered their services to over hundreds of patients including men, women and children and 70 Animals were also given free treatment.

These patients had come from different nearby villages for treatment

Free medicines were also distributed among people and for animals. People of the area have hailed the efforts of BSF and hoped that security forces will organise such camps in future also.

On this occasion Commandant of 26 Battalion BSF Lienzakai Sithlou said that BSF always stood for peace, prosperity and development of the society.

“The aim of such programmes is to develop good relations with locals and also help them in difficult times. It is a continuous process and 26 BSF Battalion is periodically conducting community outreach programs in one or other way. In the past also such free medical camps were organised in Kupwara district,” he added.

He said that they will continue to conduct such civic programmes for the benefit of the local public in future. Deputy Commandant Vijay Kumar, Company Commander Inspector Sandeep Kumar, Dr Sumit Thakur AC / MO 26 Battalion, Dr Karan Singh AC /MO 26 Battalion, Dr Sreeparna Sahu AC / MO 127 Battalion, and for veterinary Dr Manik Sharma AC (Veterinary doctor), Inspector Yogesh Tanta 26 Battalion BSF, Inspector Naresh Kumar were present on this occasion.

Dr Azhar Masoodi (Medicine) Assistant professor GMC Handwara, Dr Aijaz Ahmad Deputy Superintendent Associate Hospital GMC Handwara, Dr Rameez Nabi, Dental, Dr Kaiser Junior Paediatrics GMC Handwara, Dr Aayat Mir Medical Officer from GMC Handwara were present on this occasion.
