Man apprehended with arms and ammunition in Kupwara, says Indian Army

Srinagar: A man was apprehended with arms and ammunition in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, the Indian Army said on Monday.

“Today in a Joint Operation launched by Indian Army & Jammu & Kashmir Police (J&KP) on specific intelligence, a specific SADO was launched at General Area Nagri wherein a Naka was also established at Nagri Park by Kupwara police based on specific input from JKP/SOG,” the Indian Army said in a statement.

“In this joint operation, one suspected individual Aijaz Ahmad Parry, son of Gulam Ahmad Parry, resident of Kunan Poshpora was apprehended along with one each of hand grenade, pistol with a magazine and four rounds of 9mm ammunition along with other incriminating material,” the statement reads.

“Further investigation is in progress,” reads the statement further.
