Prayagraj: On the tenth day of the Mahakumbh Mela, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his cabinet will hold a special meeting in Prayagraj, followed by a ceremonial holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.
The meeting, scheduled for noon, will take place at Triveni Sankul in Arail, according to DGP Prashant Kumar. “The Cabinet meeting will be held at noon. After that, all the Cabinet ministers along with the CM will take a bath in the Sangam. We have inspected the preparations and are working to ensure the best facilities for everyone here,” Kumar said.
Initially planned at the Mela Authority Auditorium, the venue was shifted to Triveni Sankul to avoid disruptions to the pilgrims’ movement due to VIP security measures. Following the meeting, CM Yogi, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, and other ministers will travel by motorboats from the Arail VIP Ghat to the Sangam. There, they will perform rituals and take a ceremonial dip, as per an official statement.
This is not the first time Yogi Adityanath has led his cabinet to the Sangam. A similar event occurred during the 2019 Kumbh Mela, where the CM, accompanied by ministers and saints, participated in rituals at the holy site.
The Mahakumbh Mela, known for its spiritual and cultural significance, has drawn millions of pilgrims, with the state government making extensive arrangements to ensure a smooth and secure experience for all attendees.
