Delhi: Delhi Minister Ashish Sood on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing it of shielding corruption and spreading misinformation. Questioning AAP’s public posture, Sood said the party appears to show “extraordinary affection” towards individuals accused of corruption, especially when action is initiated against them.

Speaking to reporters, Sood alleged that corruption had flourished openly in several departments during AAP’s tenure in power. He said that now, under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership, the government is taking firm steps against irregularities, but AAP is opposing these actions instead of supporting accountability.

“Why is AAP standing with the corrupt? Why is it supporting those against whom action is being taken?” Sood asked, suggesting that the party’s priorities were misplaced.

The minister also accused AAP of spreading false narratives on social media. Referring to a recent post by the party, Sood said AAP had claimed that the Delhi government issued an order threatening action against children dressed as Santa Claus. He challenged the party to produce any such official directive.

“Where is that order? Why isn’t it being shown?” Sood asked, dismissing the claim as baseless and misleading. He said such statements were designed to create unnecessary fear and confusion among the public.
