Sakti Superintendent of Police Praful Thakur confirmed the casualties, stating,
“Nine people died and 15 were injured in a boiler blast at Vedanta Power Plant in the Singhi Tarai area of Sakti district. The injured have been taken to hospital in Raigarh.”

Emergency response teams and local administration officials rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information about the explosion. Rescue operations were launched promptly to evacuate injured workers and secure the area.

The injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals, where several remain in critical condition.
