Mumbai – Vahid Shaikh, President of Mumbai Janseva Sangh, has called upon Muslims across Maharashtra to actively participate in the sighting of the crescent moon, marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
In his appeal, Shaikh emphasized the significance of moon sighting in Islamic tradition, highlighting that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) encouraged believers to seek the new moon to commence the sacred month of fasting.
“The sighting of the crescent moon is an important religious practice that signifies the start of Ramadan. I urge my fellow Muslims to take part in this tradition and ensure accurate confirmation of the new month,” Shaikh stated.
The Mumbai Janseva Sangh has also provided various online platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter, for updates and community engagement. Additionally, a WhatsApp group has been created for those interested in joining the initiative.
