Uttar Pradesh: ‘Only 3 teachers died during poll duties’, says Minister Satya Prakash after reports claimed over 1,600 death

Few days back reports said that around 1,600 teachers died due to Covid on duty during the recently-concluded panchayat poll. However, now Satya Prakash, undersecretary of basic education department, Uttar Pradesh, said on Tuesday that so far District Magistrates had provided the State Election Commission a list of only three confirmed deaths of teachers. He also appealed to people to not fall for “misleading” reports not based on facts.

He even slammed Congress leader Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi for misleading people.

“I’d like to tell Rahul & Priyanka Gandhi to not do politics on corpses”, said UP Min Satish Dwivedi on Congress’ Priyanka’ tweet.
