@the_news_21

The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a five- day campaign from today for early detection of COVID patients in the villages of the state. The move comes as there are apprehensions that COVID cases can rise in the villages because of the gatherings during Panchayat elections and counting.

The special campaign will run for five days till the 9th of May in 97,000 villages of the state during which the team of health workers will go door to door for early detection of COVID patients. The teams have been provided 10 lakh medicine kits and 10 lakh antigen kits for identification of patients. According to the results of the antigen test, steps for the home isolation, institutional quarantine or admission to the hospitals will be taken. Quarantine centres have been prepared in schools and village panchayat buildings.
