Patna: Union Minister and senior JD(U) leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh, popularly known as Lalan Singh, has responded to an FIR filed against him in connection with a viral video from a recent election rally in Shivnar, Bihar. The video, circulated widely on social media, sparked controversy after the RJD alleged that Singh had made provocative remarks during his campaign speech.

Clarifying the matter, Singh stated that the video had been misrepresented by political opponents to distort his comments. He maintained that his remarks were aimed at protecting the rights of poor voters who were allegedly being threatened by rival party workers in certain areas.

According to reports, the controversy began after Singh addressed a public gathering, urging villagers to safeguard themselves from intimidation during the polling process. Following the circulation of the edited clip, the Election Commission directed local authorities to register a case against him.

The FIR was lodged at the Mokama police station, and officials confirmed that further investigation is underway. Singh reiterated that he respects the law and will cooperate with the authorities throughout the inquiry.
