New Delhi: Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has strongly criticised the West Bengal government over the alleged gangrape of a law student in Kolkata, blaming what he described as “appeasement politics” for the worsening state of law and order.
“Law and order has deteriorated in West Bengal. This is further deteriorating due to appeasement politics. You can see the result before you,” Meghwal said, referring to the shocking crime at a government-affiliated law college.
The Union Minister called the incident deeply unfortunate and a stain on the state’s image. “This is an unfortunate situation for Bengal. This is a taint on Bengal,” he declared.
