“Tumko Patak Patak Ke Maarenge”: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey Dares Raj Thackeray Over Anti-Hindi Remarks

New Delhi: In a fiery counterattack, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey launched a scathing tirade against MNS chief Raj Thackeray, calling his recent remarks against non-Marathi speakers “cheap politics” aimed at gaining relevance ahead of the BMC elections. Dubey didn’t hold back, openly daring Thackeray to step outside Maharashtra and face the consequences.

Speaking to the news agency on Monday, Dubey said, “You people are surviving on our money. What kind of industries do you even have? If you’re so brave to threaten Hindi speakers in Mumbai, then show the same boldness with Urdu, Tamil, or Telugu speakers.” He further challenged, “Agar itne bade boss ho, Maharashtra ke bahar aao—Bihar, UP ya Tamil Nadu mein aake dikhao. ‘Tumko patak patak ke maarenge.’”

This verbal confrontation comes days after Raj Thackeray addressed a massive rally in Mumbai alongside Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray. The rally, meant to celebrate the scrapping of the controversial three-language policy in Maharashtra’s schools, took a sharp turn when Raj gave incendiary instructions to his cadre. “If someone creates drama over speaking Marathi, hit them below the ears. But don’t record it—let the beaten person speak instead,” he had said, prompting outrage across party lines.

Dubey, undeterred, accused both Thackeray cousins of inciting violence under the garb of linguistic pride. “We all respect the Marathi language and those who laid down their lives for India. But this kind of goondagardi in the name of regionalism is unacceptable. If they have guts, let them go to Mahim Dargah and try raising their hands against Hindi or Urdu speakers there.”
