WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump on Monday announced a bold move targeting the global film industry, declaring plans to levy “a 100% tariff” on all movies produced outside the United States.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed his frustration over the state of American cinema, saying, “Our movie making business has been stolen from the United States of America, by other Countries, just like stealing ‘candy from a baby.’ California, with its weak and incompetent Governor, has been particularly hard hit! Therefore, in order to solve this long time, never ending problem, I will be imposing a 100% Tariff on any and all movies that are made outside of the United States.”

  1. This is a 100% classic Trump move! Imposing a 100% tariff on foreign films is like trying to solve a leaky faucet by nailing the sink to the floor! Our movie making business may need help, but a full blockade? That’s like telling everyone to eat pizza because the burgers cost too much – eventually, folks will just start making their own movies, probably in their basements! California’s Governor must be feeling like the baby Trump mentioned, with all this solving happening. Hollywood might just reinvent itself without the global competition, or we could end up with a lot more films about Trump himself – imagine that! #EntertainmentEconomics #TariffTalesrunway act 2 price
