Trump Declares 100% Tariff on Foreign Films, Calls Hollywood Outsourcing a ‘National Security Threat’

Washington, D.C: In a fiery announcement on Truth Social, U.S. President Donald Trump declared a sweeping 100% tariff on all films produced outside the United States, citing what he described as a “national security threat” posed by the increasing trend of American filmmakers outsourcing movie production abroad.

“The Movie Industry in America is DYING a very fast death,” Trump wrote. “Other countries are offering all sorts of incentives to draw our filmmakers and studios away from the United States… It is, in addition to everything else, messaging and propaganda!”

Trump claimed that the American film industry, particularly Hollywood, is being “devastated” by this exodus and accused foreign nations of using tax breaks and other incentives to lure productions away from U.S. soil.

“Therefore, I am authorizing the Department of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative to immediately begin the process of instituting a 100% Tariff on any and all Movies coming into our Country that are produced in Foreign Lands,” Trump posted. “WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!”

While the logistics and timeline for implementing the tariff remain unclear, Trump’s post indicates a renewed push for economic nationalism in the entertainment sector, an industry already struggling with box office declines and global competition.

Alcatraz to Reopen? Trump Pushes Plan to House ‘Most Ruthless Criminals’

In a separate and equally dramatic move, Trump also announced plans to reopen and expand the infamous Alcatraz prison, which has been closed since 1963. The facility, located on an isolated island in San Francisco Bay, once housed some of the most notorious criminals in U.S. history.

“For too long, America has been plagued by vicious, violent, and repeat Criminal Offenders, the dregs of society… That is why today, I am directing the Bureau of Prisons, together with the Department of Justice, FBI, and Homeland Security, to reopen a substantially enlarged and rebuilt ALCATRAZ,” he said.

According to Trump, the new Alcatraz will be a high-security facility aimed at incarcerating America’s “most ruthless and violent offenders,” serving as a symbol of “Law, Order, and JUSTICE.”
