Three LeT OGWs arrested in connection with grenade attack on Langate CRPF camp

Three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) belonging to the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) Tanzeem were arrested by security forces on August 26 in a joint operation in connection with the Grenade attack on Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Camp Langate, in the evening of August 16.

During the course of the investigation based on the reliable input from Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), Handwara, a joint Counter-terrorism And Special Operations (CASO) was launched by parties including 30 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) & Special Operations Group (SOG), Handwara. In the detailed search of houses, one Over Ground Worker (OGW) namely Ishfaq Ahmad Dar, S/o Wali Mohammad Dar Shatpora Mohalla, Langate was apprehended. 

On his disclosure the Joint CASO team recovered arms and ammunition from his possession. On further interrogation the involvement of two more OGWs namely Jamsheed Ahmad Shah, S/o Sunallaha Shah, Chak Mohalla, Langate and Javed Ahmad Khan, S/o Late Farooq Ahmad Khan, R/o Asthan Mohalla, Langate came forth and they were also apprehended along with arms and ammunition. 

In the course of the detailed interrogation, it was revealed that all three OGWs were associated with the LeT Tanzeem and were involved in supporting the terrorist activities. All the three OGWs accepted their involvement in the Grenade attack Incident on the CRPF camp at Langate on August 16. 

All three OGWs have been booked under IPC Section 307 and Explosive Substances Act Section 3/4 of FIR No 260/2021 dated August 16 of PS Handwara.
