Thane Police Commissioner Jai Jeet Singh addressed concerns regarding a distressing assault case involving a 26-year-old woman, Priya Singh, in Waghbil. Singh alleged assault and abuse by her boyfriend, Ashwajit Anil Gaikwad, and others, culminating in a serious injury after an attempt to run her over with a Range Rover SUV.
Singh assured prompt and comprehensive action, stating, “An SIT under the supervision of DCP Zone 5 Amar Singh Jadhav has been established to conduct a meticulous investigation, exploring all facets of this case.”
He emphasized the ongoing efforts: “Witness statements are under recording, and forensic evidence is actively being gathered. Additional legal sections will be invoked, and further individuals implicated as new information surfaces during the investigative process.”
The formation of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) aims to ensure a thorough and unbiased inquiry into the incident, reflecting the authorities’ commitment to delivering justice and addressing the gravity of the allegations made by the victim, Priya Singh.
