New Delhi: Billionaire Elon Musk’s electric vehicle (EV) company, Tesla Inc., is ramping up its recruitment efforts in India, signaling a potential entry into the market. According to a Bloomberg report, Tesla is currently seeking candidates for 13 different positions across various roles, including customer-facing and back-end jobs, as per job listings on LinkedIn.
Roles such as ‘Tesla Advisor,’ ‘Customer Support Specialist,’ ‘Inside Sales Advisor,’ and ‘Delivery Operations Specialist’ are among the vacancies Tesla is filling. Several positions, including service technician and advisory roles, are available in Mumbai and Delhi, with other roles like ‘Consumer Engagement Manager’ being specific to Mumbai.
This recruitment drive comes on the heels of a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Elon Musk in the US, further fueling speculation that Tesla is preparing to enter the Indian market. Despite ongoing discussions over the years, the company had previously hesitated due to India’s high import duties on EVs.
