With the Lok Sabha elections looming, tensions within the Maharashtra Grand Alliance have escalated as the leader of the Grand Alliance issued a direct challenge to Ajit Pawar, triggering a war of words between factions.

Vijay Shivtare, a prominent figure within the Shiv Sena’s Shinde group, launched scathing remarks against Ajit Pawar, warning of his intent to contest independently in the Lok Sabha elections from Baramati. In response, Anand Paranjpe, spokesperson for the NCP Ajit Pawar group, swiftly fired back, condemning Shivtare’s remarks as inappropriate and calling for restraint from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in controlling his party leaders.

Paranjpe emphasized the importance of maintaining a united front within the Grand Alliance, cautioning that any encroachment on the NCP’s territory could result in unexpected outcomes in key constituencies, including the Kalyan Lok Sabha seat. Highlighting the NCP’s historical stronghold in Baramati and other constituencies, Paranjpe urged Chief Minister Shinde to address Shivtare’s personal agenda and ensure harmony within the alliance.

The exchange of verbal jabs underscores the growing friction between alliance partners, with Shivtare’s remarks eliciting a direct response from the NCP camp. Paranjpe hinted at Ajit Pawar’s firm resolve and track record of delivering on his promises, signaling the NCP’s readiness to defend its positions amidst mounting tensions.

As the electoral battle heats up, the dynamics within the Maharashtra Grand Alliance remain fluid, with each faction vying for supremacy and asserting its influence in key constituencies. With the Kalyan Lok Sabha seat emerging as a potential battleground, the stage is set for a high-stakes showdown as parties maneuver to secure their political interests and sway the electorate in their favor.
