Srinagar: In a disturbing escalation of hostilities, Pakistan once again violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir, opening unprovoked fire from their posts on the intervening night of April 25-26. According to officials familiar with the matter, Indian troops retaliated appropriately with small arms. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported from either side.
The officials confirmed, “On the night of April 25 and 26, unprovoked small arms firings were carried out by various Pakistan Army posts all across the LoC in Kashmir… Indian troops responded appropriately with small arms.”
This marks the second such violation by Pakistan since the deadly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam area on April 22, which resulted in the tragic deaths of at least 26 people, primarily tourists.
Earlier, Pakistani troops had also opened fire at multiple locations along the LoC on the night of Thursday-Friday, an act that was met with a strong retaliatory response from the Indian Army.
